How do product targeting and exceptions work?
Pro lets you target selected products and skip a policy when a configured exception matches.

- • On Pro, select products (all their variants), individual variants, or collections. Any selection can match. Product and variant selections are fixed; collections follow current variant membership.
• The new checkout version supports up to 2 different collections across enabled policies and exceptions, not 2 per policy. Reusing a collection does not count twice. Tags, product types, and vendors are not targeting options.
• A product, variant, or collection exception among targeted items skips this policy for the whole delivery group. An address-text exception in address lines 1 or 2 also skips it. Later policies can still block.
1. Edit a policy and choose Selected products, variants, or collections under Apply to products.
2. Add selections and any exceptions. Collections update from Shopify membership without a manual refresh; test after saving membership changes in Shopify.
3. Review and approve replacement of legacy selectors before activating the new checkout version. Old product-level collections are not silently converted to variant-level collections.
4. Save and check for success. Test matching, nonmatching, sibling variants, and mixed-product carts in real checkout.
