How do product targeting and exceptions work?

Pro lets you target selected products and skip a policy when a configured exception matches.

  • Target products, variants, collections, tags, product types, or vendors. A product can match any of the selected criteria; it does not need to match all of them.
  • Add exceptions for selected products or allowed address text. Address text is checked in address lines 1 and 2.
  • A matching product exception among the policy’s targeted items skips that policy for the whole delivery group. Other enabled policies can still block that delivery group.
  1. On Pro, edit a policy and choose Selected products or product fields under Apply to products.
  2. Choose the targeting criteria.
  3. Turn on Add exceptions and enter the product criteria or allowed address text you need.
  4. Save, then test matching, nonmatching, and mixed-product carts to confirm the scope behaves as intended.
